Well, I just spoke to someone earlier tonight and predicted this no-brainer. Of course, the men in black show up to squash Dore, frighten his family, etc. The so-called "pressure" he was under was really due to the fact that he (whoever he was) was exposed as a fake. So hopefully ends this hoax. Read the statement carefully as there are things in it that point to the hoax. Remember, no one's identity has been revealed here except for the Ham operators who confirmed the signals (if they even know about it). Why aren't these Hams on the open SETI Email Discussion List? (http://www.setileague.org/admin/setilist.htm) There is a lot of research going on there and there are Hams on it too (none of whom seem to consider this thing as real). Actually, not one of these people claiming to have detected signals has really spoken out to the public or anyone else, save the posts at geocities.com ...and I'm sure the story will end with the mysterious Ham operators being harassed out of the picture too. I predict that the website will soon disappear as well. (Already gone! 11/04/98)
